Black. Like my metal.

I've created a character who's into black metal, so I fired up a Dimmu Borgir station on pandora so as to do some research. It is awful and horrifying how much I like it. I mean, I still don't like the cookie monster vocals, but the waves of synths over the guitars sound cool as hell. Also it's killer workout music. I suppose the lyrics are pretty grim, but you can't understand them anyway.
I hated most of the metal bands I saw at Ozzfest last summer, but maybe I was hasty to condemn. Or maybe it's just better when you can turn it off after five songs and switch to some nice, palate-cleansing Swedish power pop. (right now I favor the Caesars in that department.)
